Mister - Harvard edition

Just put up a new design in my etsy shop from the Mister collection. This one is made from remnant upholstery fabric in oatmeal colored tweed and rich dark brown leather. It reminds me of a Harvard professor's blazer with the leather elbows, hence the name. Just like the other cushions in the Mister collection this pillow represents 3 men's mustaches, but these mustaches are larger than the others in the collection.

I keep hearing that the weather in Seattle is getting colder and wetter and everyone is ok with that - while here in Melbourne the sun decided to make an appearance and I'm loving it!! My toes need to thaw out.

Meet me at Mike's

If you haven't heard about this awesome craft collaberation called Meet me at Mike's and if you haven't been introduced to the creative creator Pip then let me introduce you. Meet me at Mike's is a store on Brunswick street in Melbourne run by Pip and her partner Cameron. They live on the second floor of the awesome building that holds Meet me at Mike's, which encompasses all kinds of wares from craft, kitsch, op shop (thrift shop) rescues, vintage, clothes, sewing machines, and even bikes. Cameron was in the shop when my sister and I went to visit and we spent a good 40 minutes wandering around the cozy place touching everything and taking it all in. The park out front of the shop has giant Russian Matryoshka (Babushka) dolls so we had to go take a picture. Meet me at Mike's turned into a book with oodles of different crafters ideas and patterns. I think I might have to put the book on my Christmas wish list - the budget has now been upgraded from $30AUD to $60AUD, look out!

Visit Pip at Meet me at Mike's 63 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, VIC or visit her blog here.
(Pip was featured in August's edition of Australian Home Beautiful where these images came from)
(Matryoshka dolls in the park across from Meet me at Mike's (the grey and white building))

get the book $45AUD from Hardie Grant Books, or through Amazon.com for $40USD - it's now officially on my Christmas wishlist.

Mathilda - Mademoiselle

This is the third design in the Mathilda collection. This one represents an avant garde corsage with a taffeta bow. This one isn't in my etsy shop but it's going to a friend for her birthday. I might put one up in the shop soon.

93 days until Christmas!

Last week on Australian TV a show started the 100 days until Christmas countdown. I really can't believe that we're only a few months away from the holiday season and I'm especially excited this year because it's my first Christmas in Australia.

This is going to be a recession buster holiday season and my husband and I have a strict budget of $30AUD for gifts for each other and I've already started my wishlist. Here's what's on it...

I can't decide which of these two prints I want more from My Folk Lover's etsy shop. I'm swooning over this Melbourne artist's moody prints. Maybe you can help me decide which one I should get - getting both will brake the bank.

I'm adding new designs to the menagerie of cushions that I already have and will be adding more to my etsy shop soon. This one is in the Mathilda collection and it's called Tuxedo. Made from remnant upholstery fabric (this one is made with a light grey fabric) and of course each cushion is made with extra love.

Rain beau now on RevisionDesignAus on etsy!

New designs available in my etsy shop.

'Rain beau' is inspired by the weather in Seattle, Washington U.S.A - although I've definitely gotten a taste of the wet and wild weather here in Melbourne Australia too!

George the sock-gibbon is making an appearance. He likes the rain beau too :o)

I'm working I promise!

I promise you that I'm working even though I haven't been blogging much lately. My sister is visiting from America and we've been having a great time. We're going out to a fabric store today and getting some wool yarn to try boiled wool. Our aunt Grete is Norway has been making fun things out of boiled wool for years and so we want to carry on the legacy.

Here's some eye candy for today and one of my favorite etsy shops called Pattern Bakery from Finland see their etsy shop here.

Shhh, I'm working

Sorry folks - I've been hard at work here behind the scenes and I'm frantically running errands getting all of my paperwork in order to be a normal working class person in Australia. Here are some tasty photos to keep you busy until I resume normal blogging.

I'm working on getting an etsy shop set up, so watch this space! While wandering around etsy I've come across some stunning artists and this is my current favorite - Yokoo. She's been featured in Better Homes & Gardens magazine and sold a Cambridge scarf to Gwen Stefani. And the photography and styling of her etsy shop is enviable. Enjoy.

this Cambridge scarf - chain scarf is the one she did for Gwen.
